The Online Promotional Sphere

January 30th, 2009

Part one – What to have in place.

o Create a personal web site with a blog page, the ability to listen and download your music.

o Create a public profile on several social networks such as MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Bebo, Hi5 and others.

o Post and advertise your music on several music promoting sites such as YouTube, CDBaby, Rapsody, iTunes, iLike and others.

o Link all your public social profiles to your blog, (this will prevent you from going nuts) using feed services such as ping.fm and others.

Part two – What takes place.

Your web site is your main focus point all your communication goes out from there and it returns every person back to the site.

On the profiles you’ll need to refer people to your site to find out who you really are by including lots of links, i.e. in the “about me” section you’ll write a little teaser and at the end include “to find out more click here”, do this with as many section as possible, especially the listening section, put on two or three song and a link saying “to hear more”.

On your blog put links back out to your main site, like “check out this new video” and link it to your video section on own site. Since the blog will be fed to all your social networks this will increase traffic back to your site. There is really no prefect science here, yet. Only thing that we know works for sure is the continued conversation that goes on between you and your fans.
